My 2 yr old isa brown became "immobile" puffed up and the other chickens were picking feathers off her
like she was in a trance or something. I removed her from the flock (I have 24 hens and one rooster)
all same age, no new food or birds...I put her in a warming box with fresh straw and water last night
this morning she is responsive to sound but is still standing eyes clear, combs red and pluck
her abdomen is slightly distended and hard, vent is clear
she is wobly and noticed looks like bloody runny stool in the straw. 2 weeks ago, one of my RIR
died within a few hours of her looking like she was in a trance but showed none of the other
symtoms of this bird....any suggestions, this is my first flock of chickens and has been fun for
me and my grandkids. I don't want them possibly being infectious to the kids. We do practice
good hand washing and always wear our "coop shoes" when going in and out of the coop and run
area. PLEASE< PLEASE any information would be so helpful.....the backyard chicken has
gotten me this far.....I don't want to lose anymore of my "girls" they have been a great source of
joy and fresh eggs...
