This morning I came out to check on the birds and throw them some oats.....Sam..a Lacewing?? Didn't respond. She just sat there, eyes closed, didn't run from me as usual. I then noticed several piles of bloody stool that would have come for more than one bird...yet al the other birds are acting normal..except for Sam. The stool looks to have a "tissue-y" look about it. Normal stool mixed with "blobs" of bloody tissue.
Our birds are approximately 8 months old and "freerange" in our yard. I recently opened up a new area to them where I used to keep a couple of my dogs so very likely they could have eaten or been exposed to dog feces. It never occurred to me that that could be a problem. Can someone please help??
We are about to clean and bleach the waterer and add some ACV to it.
