It's my thread and my blankie fort so a little hijacking once in a while doesn't bother us! But since the project is mostly for those special little people in our lives who need some extra help, we probably should keep it to the Special Needs Kid's thread. To PM, just hold your cursor over the person's name and a drop box comes up with some options. Find Send PM click on it, and send away....I have a bad habit of not checking them often and even when I do I sometimes forget to answer them. I know, I know. Shame on me!

I have been learning a lot, and it seems ( I could be wrong) that some of the breeders/ showers are either really friendly, or really not? I was kind of just scanning breeders posts and it became kind of snippy in some, but I guess that's just people. No wonder I like chickens......

Anyway; making me reconsider the show aspect, and maybe just sticking with pet and care therapy part. I just want this to be a positive experience for these kids. How do you pm people on here? Totally hijacking this thread. Sorry guys!

I get notifications for everything...lol But I will admit to clicking on them and going, I can get that in a minute and them forget it until someone else pms and reminds me...lol

Nope, we just lift the fort flap and invite folks in. Rules are : Bring treats to share. No smoking. AND NO LEGOS!!!!

Well, the six eggs I won in BYC'S caption contest arrived today - all 11 of them! <Gulp!> Shipped from Colorado on Tuesday so it was pretty much a straight shot for them - not much handling involved, weather has been super nice, and no drastic altitude changes. Too light to candle yet, but I did take a quick peek and I didn't see any obviously horrible air cells! The other incubator is fired up, humidity looks good and it's holding temps pretty well, so I'm hoping for a good outcome! I got them from @nate1the1great1 , and what a bang-up good job of packing. Our postmistress got such a big kick out of the box they were sent in that she took photos of it. I'll take some pics in a bit and get them up.

In the box were eggs that, if they hatch, will be such a treat for Katie and Kendra! If you don't know who my granddaughters are, here's their story. They are amazing and they hold my heart in their little hands, I'll tell ya....

1 Silkie (Kendra's!)

2 Bantams (but I don't know if they are Bantams of a particular breed or what. Those will be Katie's)

1 Naked Neck (not sure what i'm going to think of that one.

I'm on Day 16 with the others. Still 8 viable so hope springs eternal.
