Hello there. Here is one of my 8 week old today Blue Laced Red Wynadottes, Misty. At first, we were sure this was going to turn out a cockerel. I know/am pretty sure our Pikachu is a boy. ( My kids named them, yes they are huge Pokemon fans!).

Misty started off a little bolder than the others, and the comb area got a little pink/tiny wattles. But, whereas Pikachu ( You can just see him in one of the pictures below) got darker and bigger, and his comb puffed out already, Misty still looks the same as she did a month or so ago, flat and a much lighter pink than Pikachu's red. Body shape is less roo more hen too to me, if that makes sense.

I tried to get good pictures of everything, tell me if you need more. But I have my fingers crossed that we've only got one rooster. These were straight run, and I hand-picked. We had a cockerel turn nippy and dominant on us last time, so he had to go. I wanted to try again if we have one roo, but am hoping we only have one so I don't have to pick and choose who needs another home.

Thank you for looking!

Easy, breezy, beautiful, cover pullet ( I hope).

What? Chicken butt. :)

Pikachu and Ophelia in the little pen. Misty was getting stressed out by herself ( we are integrating with older hens).

Hard to see unless you click to expand, but Pikachu is the one on the far left, and you can kind of see his stance and his comb, which is puffier and darker than Misty.

I hope so! Thank you all so much for helping! :)

If I have 3 pullets and a cockerel, I will be so excited. I know it was luck because 2-3 day old chicks would be near impossible to tell, but it will also give me bragging rights since these were straight run.

Hello;

We agree, it is a pullet. We have been breeding BLRW for years, our birds originating from "FOLEY'S ( the Grand master of BLRW in the USA, He is in KY). Your pullet is a pale blue which would benefit from being paired with a Darker BLRW Cockerel or better a GLW for a 50% BLRW ( with a deep slate undertone improvement on the base feather color of the pullet) and 50% GLW out cropping of chicks.

Best of Luck there are very hardy and fun!
