I saw that auction too. The bid went to $368.00 for 24 day-old chicks. I might also say that the BLRW's from that breeder are closer to true color than any hatchery, and most breeders.
Deep burgundy red with blue lacing, and much more of the Wyandotte shape, than the pale buff colored hatchery birds I have seen.
Quality brings a price. I am brooding 18 of those exact birds ( not from that auction), and hoping that they turn out just like their mothers did.
If you live in Florida, Central Florida, you can get the same beautiful Wyandotte's from Jesse Paul. He has a website, something like Paul's poultry, and sells BLRW's and SLW's unlike any you have seen, very pretty birds.
