But yes, she is female.

We got the "group" in August and they were 2-4 months old then...they have grown, but really slowly.​

We actually rehomed him...we didn't need 4 Roos and he was too nice to eat.

I don't think you can call it a project colour. Just the genetics of blue laced red wont breed true. Only 12.5% of pullets and cockerals (25% total) will be BLR froma BLR x BLR mating.

It is definitely one of those colours where you have to "breed lots, cull hard" to get correct specimens.
 
I hatched almost 75 BLRW chicks last year. I have 1 pair - 2 birds - that I am 'ok' with.. type and color wise. I would not even say 'happy' at this point. Yeah. It's a tough one.
