BLRW's - single combs from rose comb flocks?

Turtle Feathers,
Correct on all counts. When I bred Wyandottes I used to individually pen 4 hens and rotate the cock bird daily.

NYReds There is copious scientific literature available on the subject, I suggest you do a Google or similar search. The fertility of the hen is not affected, it only effects the cock birds.

CelticMoon1 There may be other causes of low fertility, including health state, worm burden, insufficient food, inbreeding depression, too great a ratio of hens to cocks etc, but only one of these (the latter) has any bearing on the question to hand. The production of single comb birds.
