Seems to me that Blue has a wide variety of manifestations -- from light to dark. I have some Blue Ameraucanas developing now (hatched mid-June), and they seem to vary from a very pale grey-blue with very little contrast between the mid-section and the edges of the feathers, to some that are much darker and also with much more contrast.

I'd be interested in seeing pictures of some of your Blue Ameraucanas for comparison....

(I will add some of mine when I get them. I just went out and tried, but all the pictures were terrible, so I trashed them all.....I'll try again later.)

Oh very pretty, Cynthia, thank you.
Now I really do have to go get some pictures.

Yours are very much in the middle of the two extremes that I seem to be seeing in mine -- one who is quite a bit paler and a couple who look darker.

Out I go with the camera and a bit more patience this time.

Okay, here are three pictures of my lightest blue Ameraucana (as yet unnamed)

She's pretty pretty, dontcha think?

But definitely pale....

I know I hatched out some Silver Ameraucanas from Jean as well as the Blacks and Blues, but....I'm still thinking this one is a (light) Blue....
