Blue Ameraucana thread!

Blue or Lavender???? Ameraucana or Easter Egger????

You could ask on the LAV AM thread. Her head looks like a blue AM but she doesn't seem to have any lacing which could be LAV. I breed blues but just a few but mine are darker, so the LAV AM breeders are a lot more experienced than me.

I want some! Their so pretty, any idea where I can get some. I plan on getting a black ameraucana hen and breeding it with my splash rooster to get a brood of them. Any better ideas?

He's pretty but that rust color coming out indicates he's an Easter egger. Not a true blue Americana. Has makings of a fine looking bird.

This friend was sold to us at 14 weeks as a lavender ameraucana pullet. Now, at 24 weeks or so,
it appears that it is not only a rooster, but a blue instead of lavender. Your thoughts?

Definitely an EE. The comb, which appears to be pea comb mixed with something larger....? and the fact that he's not a recognized variety (blues are ALL blue) prove that.

Is that leakage on his shoulder or just because of the sunlight? Also, looks to be a splash to me. Better pics would help with identifying color and seeing if it's a true Ameraucana.

Oh, nevermind. When I enlarged the pic, it was obvious the "leakage" was from the sun...yup, looks like a Splash Ameraucana to me...pea comb, muff/beard, slate legs, horn-colored beak....he's pretty
