Blue Ameraucana thread!

Hi all!! I have 3 blues that are 6 weeks old today! Still have no clue if I have pullets or cockerels. I love them tho! The darkest one is my baby...would walk around the house just holding it! I'm hoping I have 2 hens and 1 too! These guys are being integrated with our flock of 17. 5 Barred rocks, 4 Isa Browns, 3 Buff cochins and 5 Buff Orpingtons!

Hi all! I'm totally new to Blue Ameraucanas but a woman posted pictures of her eggs on a local chicken fb page and I just fell in love! I have had chickens for about 18 months and I've fallen head over heels for them, and had a glorious time building my flock for a beautiful egg basket.

She was selling straight run chicks at 1 week of age and I picked up six. I used feather sexing, as I have had 100% success using this in the past with my BCM and BCM/Brahma mixes. But now that they are nearing 4 weeks old I started getting suspicious and did a little googling only to find out feather sexing isn't at all reliable with BA

I have a horrible feeling I may have 4-5 roosters!!! So maybe it is reliable, just the complete opposite of other breeds ‍♀️ (I was going for 5 pullets and 1 roo).

Here is a pic of one of the suspected cockerels. Please tell me I'm wrong. I've no real experience sexing a pea comb, so I'm just going off a few things I've read. They hatched May 7th, making them 4 weeks old yesterday. I'll try to get shots of all of them, for your guessing pleasure

Would anyone care to give their opinions on the sex of my two blues? These are my first chickens (2 Blue Ameraucanas + 4 Transylvanian Naked Necks). Both of the blues are the same age, 7 weeks, but they've had completely different personalities from the start. The lighter one (Charlotte) is fearless and somewhat larger than the darker one (Margo), which makes me wonder if "she" is actually a "he." Both are sweet, though. Ignore my naked-necks - They are already easy to tell between the pellets and roos.

I really want them both to be hens (I'll have to return any roos to the farm they came from, because I'm not allowed roosters in my Phoenix backyard).

Opinions anyone?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Realized there is a gender area, so my question would probably be more appropriate there (I'll move), but enjoy the pics! Thanks!

My previous rooster was a purebred blue Ameracauna, so I have blue lines in my flock, which is mixed in color but all Ameracauna. Those are both females-- the comb of the lighter one is definitely not a cockerel. It's completely normal for some females to be quite boisterous and others to be very retiring-- hey, just like humans, eh?

Just thought I'd show off my blues, the first one is several weeks older. All are sexed pullets from a breeder so I'm hopeful. I have 2 darker blues and a light blue.

Pretty sure I have a black Cockerel nd blue pullet. Y'all let me know if my guess is accurate. I need to amend my Craigslist ad here anlin Nashville to get these two into their new homes!
