Blue Ameraucana thread!

I love our blue Ameraucanas, they are the best chickens! We have 3 hens and 2 are broody right now lol

They are so beautiful! I am new at this and I have 9 Ameracaunas and 1 Lavendar Ameracauna. I did have 2 Lavendar but one died. I don't know if it's from this Texas heat in the 100's. But my question is what do you mean by being broody? Thanks, Cheryl

Love our Blue, she is the sweetest. Such an amazing personality. 20180309_181141.jpg

Grabbed this girl today. Was told she may be a true Ameraucana but couldn't confirm. Got her for a song as he was so flustered, he begged me to take her (was there to get a blue marans pullet that turned out to be a cockerel). She's beautiful and seems very sweet. Think I lucked out and got a true blue. Said she came from a very blue egg. Approx 16 wks old.

We'll have to see what the others say, but the sleeker feathers look like hackle feathers to me, plus I've never had 1 lay at 6 months personally. This 1 is pinking in the comb at 5, which seems a bit early as mine didn't pink until right b4 lay at 11 months. My vote is male.
Wow! 11 mo?? I just got one that's about 16 weeks. Thought I'd only be waiting a month or two for my pretty blue eggs. Yikes.

I have 11 Easter Eggers that I absolutely love and I have an order from Cackle Hatcheries being sent Wednesday. I called this morning and changed 10 French Black Copper Marans to 5 Blue Ameraucana and 7 more Easter Egger pullets. My other Easter Eggers are now 2 months old and they have so much personalties. Can't wait to get the Ameraucanas.

She’s only 10/11 weeks old, a bit bigger than her sister, darker in color and boy at times she sounds like she’s really trying to let out a cockle-doodle-do. she also is the first to stand up to the older girls in the flock. I’m going to be super bummed if she’s a he, I got her for the blue eggs~ (I merged 2 smalls groups that were 4 wks apart) these are all the same girl, color differences are flash related
