That is about what I thought it should be, unfortunately that isn't the case allot of the time.
People will hang their shingle after the first generation if not prior.
What is seriously sad is when this happens and the people that call themselves breeders do not even show and prove out their stock. They advertise and sell off the hard work and dedication of others.
It pays to investigate the time someone has been involved and what they have actually achieved. Most times you will find a better source is the actual breeder behind the scene.
Thanks Christina for keeping this real and for having the integrity to give credit where it rightfully belongs. I have seen allot of your program and I am very impressed.
Thanks Dilly, I try my hardest to be honest and up front with the stock I have acquired. I do wish I had breed these myself
I agree, generally speaking, with the several generation line establishment, depending on how many lines are involved. However, I've seen people take two or three mediocre lines (with very rare stock) and produce birds superior to their predecessors. I think the junior breeder in those instances deserves some credit. But I do think that he should still offer to credit the lines he's using for the first three generations or so out of respect. People can take that politeness with a grain of salt if the junior breeder is the one with the real talent.
My chicks from your eggs I hatched last month are growing out so lovely. They have never gone through that awkward ugly feathering out stage. One day baby down and the next lovely feathering. I think I have 50/50 cockerals to pullets so I can't complain! LOL
I love watching them scratch and play.
I hope I have success again with the eggs from you in my bator now. All of them have veins!

Im really happy they are turning out nicley for you. I'd love to see pics when they mature more. Your pullet rate has been better than mine 70% + cockerels from the first few hatches
The pullets I do have have been growing good and seem to be very typey! Hope this fall when I start hatching for myself I get more pullets!

I do agree with you, but remember our culls do come from the same stock our show champions do. So it is possible to get a superior bird compared to the parent stock. Most times this doesnt happen.
Out of the 14 eggs you sent 12 made it to day 18 and they all hatched out...I think I have 3 pullets of blue/black/splash and this 1 buff... I'm pretty sure all the rest are cockerals....time will tell...
