Blue blue eggs

As a side note, men cannot distinguish colors as easily as women. What they see as green we might see as a blue-green. God just didn't wire them to be as good as women at color distinction.

Yep, I agree. My DH and I always see color differently.

The photo of the eggs in the basket came through beautifully. DH and I both love the color on those eggs and agree they are a wonderful blue. It may be all in the light but that is the blue blue eggs he really wants.
I love the photo also of the blue and the green in the hand, very pretty. I just like eggs of different colors and want to have a beautiful variety which is why I went with the EE's. However, DH wants those blue blue eggs and I am glad we agree on the ones in the basket.
Okay, what breed laid those and can I buy some?

Now, I'm not being nasty, or picky, or any such thing, just imho, ok? It looks to me as though the pic of the eggs in the basket has been computer color enhanced as there are also blue tones in the basket itself. Not in the wood around, just the basket. I'm only saying this because I don't want folks to think that when they get hens their eggs are going to be that blue. imho.

I am going to post the description I use for my egg auctions with the basket of eggs. I have been breeding for egg color many, many years. This years pullets have just started to lay and if I can get enough eggs to give a fair representation of the color I'll post another picture

12 True Araucana eggs. All of my breeders are rumpless, but you may get tailed chicks, because the gene for tails is present in the Araucana breed. I do not breed tufted to tufted because of the lethal nature of the tufted gene. All eggs though, will have one equally bilaterally tufted parent so you should get a good percentage of tufted rumpless chicks. Chicks will be primarily Blues, Blacks, and Splashes. This flock has also been selected for their egg color and their laying abilities. These birds live up to their blue egg color and chilly South American heritage and lay steadily through the most inclement weather, and right now are laying in 100 degree heat. Payment is by PayPal immedately following the close of the auction. No E Checks, or Foreign Bidders please. Priority mail shipping $13.50. Express Mail shipping is available.............................................................................................. About the color of my eggs. The picture of the basket of eggs was taken early in the laying cycle of my breeders, the color is most intense at this time in the cycle. The lighting and the camera perhaps intensified the color a bit, but not much. Be assured that there is no touchup of the photograph. I can barely work the camera, let alone tweak the photo. This was a basket of eggs that I brought in from outside, placed in the middle of the table, and took the picture. The intensity of the color has lessened since this picture was taken, since these birds have been laying since early December. I always send the bluest eggs possible, but if you look closly there are a couple of greenish tinted eggs in the basket. Due to the fickle nature of the fertility rate of Rumpless birds I always send extras. I do not want anyone to be disappointed with the number of chicks they get. The USPS can do a number on the eggs though, so I can't guarantee your hatch. It's my wish though that all are fertile and all hatch

I am going to try and get a rooster I looked at the breeder list and there are 5 breeders of Blue/ Black/ and spalsh ameraucana in Maryland so I guess that was the color I should go with. Sara has black and might have two dark blue chicks for me and whitmore farm has beautiful blues/ blacks/ and splashes so I am going to try and get at least one pullet from him to make at least a nice breeding trio or quad.

don't tell my mom but I am going to try and keep the chicken tractor so that I can separate them and get just bbs eggs because of the EE and Other two ameraucana hens I won't be able to tell from color.
