Blue blue eggs

I have a EE hen that lays a pretty egg- she is about 3. I got 3 "ameracana" chicks that I suspect are EE's since they are not correct in coloring- but they are too young to lay.I am hoping for good egg coloe.NOW I want REAL aracuanas LOL but I have no more room and i only want the eggs for color,so EE's will work for me. Good to see you again Nadine

Hey Priszilla!
It was so nice meeting you the other day. Can you tell I am well on my way to getting lots of egg layers and setters? You really are going to have to get rid of that flock of ducks so you can expand in chickens! LOL
I adore the blue eggs but more than me is DH, he absolutely loves that coloring. He is building more coops as fast as he can so we can add on. I think I may get rid of all my Cochins for the better egg colors. Although those Cochins can be good broodies, too. But my Silkies will be my better choice for setters and raising chicks.
Let me know what colors you get from your EE's. Variety is the spice of life!

Great eggs pics. I had a EE that was a mystery chick from MM a long time ago and she laid a brillant turquoise egg. I always enjoyed collecting those eggs. I gave her to a lady in Fl.

LOL!
Don't want no ducks! Although I heard their eggs are good to cook with but DH just wanted to cook them!

I am pretty sure that the blue in the basket is a reflection from the very blue eggs when the camera flash went off I don't think this is changed at all.

The imbedded meta data for the basket of blue eggs shows that the image was manipulated by Microsoft Photo Editor on 2-25-2008. Don't know in what way the photo was 'manipulated', heck it could have simply been cropped or resized. Regardless, I like the picture.

My pictures are resized to fit a 15" monitor. When I first
kind of figured out how to get pictures on auctions they were coming out HUGE. I was advised to resize them down and they would fit. You must be real good fiddling with computers? Why don't you come by and Tutor me for a couple of weeks? I can't make my printer print pictures from my computer, and I have a couple of things that are driving me crazy(of course they doesn't have far to drive), plus there a whole bunch of things I want learn to do.
I have run the complete spectrum of Communication devices. I made my first phone from the phone pictured. This phone was in use until 1960 when the REA upgraded our system to dial. If we wanted to make a long distance call we had to drive to the central office so the operator could hook up with Ma Bell and use the phone there.

I had an aunt who lived in a pretty rural area and she still used a phone like that when I was young. The phone company finally made her replace it with a modern line in 1975.

Just a little friendly advise regarding claims of "true blue eggs"...ask the breeder to send you egg shell samples before you order any chicks or hatching eggs. No offense intended but the blue eggs in the basket look color enhanced to me. They're almost violet blue (or appear so on my monitor) which just isn't a color found in any chicken breed as far as I know. I've heard some people claim their chickens lay a "pink" or "yellow" egg but I've never seen any evidence to back up their claims. The pink egg turned out to be a light brown egg with a white wash over it.
In my experience, silver Ameraucanas tend to have the best egg color. Blacks and blues with the brown egg layer genetics in their background seem to lay more of a pale green egg but of course there are always variables.

Gary,
I did join the ACA. I am now ready for that quartet you offered to give me to get started. You need to let me know if I can come get them soon as I am very ready for this project and hope to see those blue eggs one day.
I have your phone number in the membership listing from all the material Mr Ludwig gave me.
Thanks!
