I gave some as gifts last year and they wnet over well. I have seen some new ideas in the mean time that I would love to try, but I can't justify buying eggs to blow out.

Unless you get them from a neighbor where they were not raised like store bought eggs, the rub-ons will break them or at least the pressure needed to get them on will. I tried some walmart eggs cuz I wanted some white ones and they all crushed in my hands.

Ok I am probably the least artistic person on this planet. But Miss Prissy you inspired me... Now I'm going to have to figure out how to glue the bead things on... I only did 2 in case it was a total disaster

No stickers for me, I studied this entire thread!

It's a "Rub on & gems" from K&Company. My AC Moore had absolutely NOTHING and my Michaels only had a 2 Christmas Rub ons (with gems... I'm not brave enough for a trial of gems yet) and some with metallic stars. The stars look like crap when rubbed on. They're brand E-Z.

I've got to go back tomorrow and pick up some more of the nice rub ons and some better end cover thingies... god this is how Chicken Math started. Can Chicken Math be extrapolated to Egg Decorating Math?

When I ran across this thread I didn't realize two things.....1) y'all started in the summer and got a huge head start on me and 2) it was so long 68 pages! And it just dawned on me I only have pullets...no eggs yet! But I have tons of button quail eggs and maybe a dove egg and perhaps I could talk a few finches into laying eggs before Christmas...those would be teeny tiny ornaments. I love the wooden boxes one poster used to give hers away/store in, makes them a true keepsake. Now I know what to do with my first eggs!! You have all inspired me! Wonder what I can whip up? CRAFT TIME!!!!

I used the spray on acrylic, and used 2-3 light coats. When I tried thick coats of anything , I got runs

Kymberly, last year I started in September and made over 100 of these darn things. I did cheat, however, and bought a lot of my eggshells off of ebay
