I have had no troubles with my duck eggs except they are VERY hard for me to get white and if not dried completely they drool for days
SO after I let them dry standing stright up -to drain any gunk out I apply rub ons once thats done I hand paint the modge podge on-it will look streaky for hours and cloudy because of teh podge podge but will turn clear-just make sure you use even strokes of glue
let it dry--then if needed do another coat!!!
From what I read on here duck eggs are hard to get anything to stick to, I think it was said to seal them, then add glue and cap. Goose eggs have to be sanded a bit for things to stick to them also. I have not used mod podge I only use the spray sealer in gloss, but I think sonew123 has had posts about how to get the mod podge to look great.
