Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

From what I read on here duck eggs are hard to get anything to stick to, I think it was said to seal them, then add glue and cap. Goose eggs have to be sanded a bit for things to stick to them also. I have not used mod podge I only use the spray sealer in gloss, but I think sonew123 has had posts about how to get the mod podge to look great.

I have had no troubles with my duck eggs except they are VERY hard for me to get white and if not dried completely they drool for days

SO after I let them dry standing stright up -to drain any gunk out I apply rub ons once thats done I hand paint the modge podge on-it will look streaky for hours and cloudy because of teh podge podge but will turn clear-just make sure you use even strokes of glue:) let it dry--then if needed do another coat!!!

Thank You, Thank You..
In my haste to try it all out in a matter of minutes i think the problem was there might of been a little bit of DRIBBLE coing from the egg. So i put a hole in the side of the egg and attached a thingy with a dollop of glue, went to feed the animals. When I got back in it was stuck fast.

I was like a kid with a glue gun, it was everywhere but the egg and the end cap, more up my hands then tissue stuck to me and oh lord...but Ive got it figured.

with duck eggs you have to be patient as they take alot longer to dry-I dont microwave mine I suck it up and wait a few days until I know they are bone dry and the drizzly stuff doesnt oooz while Im trying to paint the modge podge on..ask me how I know to wait? Because I was you last year!!! LOL Patience sister patience:)

I have not read ALL the posts yet but I was wondering if any one had try to use temporary tattoos instead of rub-ons. I have noticed they cost more but there are alot of designs and varieties, than with rub-ons. Thanks

I stumbled on this thread last week and I am hooked! I bought a turkey flavor injector from the grocery store to suck most of the egg out and then I also use it to blow the last little bit out. I have 18 all blown out and I am going to town tomorrow to Hobby Lobby to find some rub ons and the bead enders.

I can't wait until they are all done and I can post a pic. I love looking at everyone's pretty eggs!
