I found a blue chicken egg today,it's a little bigger then a banty cochin egg,as far as i know i don't have any easter egg chickens.is there some other chickens that lay blue eggs? Thanks

any chicken can have the blue egg gene. Ameraucanas, Araucanas and EEs are most commonly known for the colored eggs. How many chickens do you have? If its not too many I would do this.

You said its larger than a bantam egg so only do this to your large fowl.

Go out and buy some different colored lipsticks. Then put the lipstick around the vent of your hens. Be sure you know what color goes to what hen. Then you should be able to find the layer of the blue/green egg.

Wow. The things that make ya go hmmmm?

yeah I've used the lipstick once but you need to put it around the outside as well that way when the vent expands the lipstick will rub off. its also probably better to do it right before they roost that way its the most fresh.
