I really like blue, splash, self blue(lavender), blue mottled and other chicken colors like that, so I decided to start a thread for those birds only.

The pullet in this picture is now coming close to laying age and I'd thought I'd share a pic. Her this morning:

I have a splash breda that has possibly the most outrageous coloration I have ever seen on a chicken: Very pronounced splash pattern on top with a well-defined blue laced breast. (This bird is a rooster; breda have no combs.)

if it wasnt' fror the white markings, he would look just like a Melanotic, blue bird, something else is affecting its color.

I have not test mated him. Your point is well taken. I was using 'splash' in the generic and probably imprecise sense.
