Blue Cochin with red on shoulder

We have a Splash Roo and a Black hen who have bred three beautiful blues, the cockerel has quite a bit of red so we won't be breeding him. Would you not breed those pullets, either?

I am not even close to knowing a 1/4 of what others know about genetics/color etc...

I can tell you from experience breeding cochins in the following colors over the last 20 years Black, Blue, Splash, and Buff the following:

One day my Buff rooster got over the fence (now I have aviary netting to avoid this) and got in with my bbs stock. He apparently breed to one of the girls. She had a black chick. That black chick was all black and then I'm guess b/c I didn't know about the leakage in that generation I bred back to the BBS stock and when that generation of chicks were born a couple of them as they feathered out had a reddish/buffish leakage in their neck. I can only trace this flaw back to when the Buff did his naughty sneaking around.

Is it possible the breeder at one time had buffs? Or where ever he got his stock from had Buffs? I find the cochin breeders in my area alot of them breed BBS and Buff.
