Blue Copper and Splash Copper Marans Discussion

I don't know enough to give any answers with any certainty, but he looks like a Blue(Splash) Copper Marans to me.

Once again, don't know anything much, but as far as looks go, he is one stunning cockerel! I love his coloring. If I lived closer I'd take him in a heartbeat. Really beautiful!

Sorry about your hatch. BCMs are so hard to hatch. One user said theirs hatched two days later than any of the other eggs that they set at the same time. Cute chicks, though. Congrats on them!

Thanks for your comments! He is quite a sweetie, too, and though I don't really have the space for him, I can't see getting rid of him unless I find someone who really wants him. He takes such good care of his hens.

Anyone looking for a 3 month old Blue Copper Marans cockerel? He is a sweetheart. He's from a breeder in TN with a very good reputation, or so I'm told. No freezers please. I'm in New England.

I was given this blue copper roo. I know very little about blue copper breeding and exactly what traits are sought after. I'd like to know what some more knowledgable people think of him, and advice on what to pair him with. The pictures in my gallery now aren't the best, but I can post more soon too

hi every body. I have a question for you guys.
I bought some splash copper marans complete ligne father rooster he s splash +5 splash cop pullets.+ 3 spalsh cockerels + 4 Blue copper pullets and 2 Blue cop cockerels,mam was taking by the Fox.
this man he s old over 80 year old and he s retiring from the chooks that why he sold me all his splashes.he had them for 18 years nothing been added to them,and they where giving a splash offspring all the time tell 2014 when he kept one pair( the rooster I got and the mama hen taking by Fox) both splash, a problem this pair give rise to the blue one. where the Blue come from.
this year I mated the father Scorpion with 2 of his girls ,result Splash chicks and Blue chicks . I crossed the Splash cockerel with my Black copper hens hopping to all blue cop, result mostly white chicks some with black dots and dark feet others pure white with a white feet plus few Blues. When I crossed my Black copper rooster with a splash hens I got the same thing mostly White chicks few Blue and few Black( no many black at all)
Blue X blue no mystery there white chicks,mostly blue and some black chicks.

any one has an idea what this bird ? some thing isn t all right .

I need Help ,the french told me they are Dominant white over a Blue, that why they are throwing pied/mottled chicks ,white chicks and blue chicks. they are saying that why when crossed to the black cop they gave mostly white and pied chicks.
