Me EITHER! He has a little halo (but most blues do) and I think that will help with the copper on the pullets.... seems to in my lines anyway.

I have a sexing question for a couple of my 4 BBS copper marans. They are all 3wks old today 1 blue 1 splash and 2 black.

The blue I can see is a boy. He's huge! Twice the size of the others and showing a lot of copper but he is clean legged.

Here is my splash chick I think its a pullet. It has no feathers on its legs either.

Here are both of the black chicks that I thought were pullets but now I am not sure. The are about a 3rd of the size of the splash cockerel that hatched with them.

Here is my splash chick I think its a pullet. It has no feathers on its legs either.

Agreed, but in my flock that's a LOT of comb for 3 weeks on that splash. I have nicely feathered shanks/toes and one line gives me 80% or so completely clean-legged chicks. No one really understands the genetics on that yet, or the dark brown egg color either.
