Blue Copper Maran with Bumble Foot

Update: So far the maran is doing okay in terms of healing. The area around the scabs are still red, but she walks and acts perfectly fine. When I was cleaning her wound today with dish soap instead of hydrogen peroxide, I accidentally scrubbed off the scab. I decided to push around to see if yellow kernels would come out, but instead I got thin, goey semi-translucent white puss that came out in a sort of string (like snot.) I didn't force anymore out since I wanted to remove the scabs next week and see if there are by chance any kernels. I did not take pictures since I was incredibly busy in the morning. Once I take off the scab next week, I will show the puss.

Thanks everyone for their help!

Oh, and to add, I am still soaking in epsom salt, cleaning the wound, spraying vetricyn, applying trible antiobiotic, and prid when I change the bandages.
I've never run into the stringy material in the foot when dealing with Bumblefoot, but @coach723 has.

Okay, so things seem to be doing okay...? It seems that the yellow kernel is coming to the surface (which is great) but I am scared to have a surgery on my chickens feet, so I opted to still do the epsom salt baths, vetricyn + triple anti-biotic + and prid combination. Our girl is fine other wise.

I'm a little concerned that her left foot has a little bit of purple on it, but maybe its due to the bandages. I'm wondering if I should still continue to do the soaks or just let it scab and heal.

Also, on 7/11/2025, I tried squeezing the yellow stuff out of the foot, but it didn't break the skin or squeeze out. (The chickens feet are a little dirty, its because I took a picture of their feet right after I took off their bandages. I always clean the feet before applying the bandages.)

All i gotta say is great work so far and thanks for all the pics and updates. I have never dealt with bumble foot but threads like these are really helpful in case i do have to deal with it.

I think it's looking better, I'd continue with what you are doing.

Check your wrappings to make sure they aren't too tight. If the wrappings get wet or heavily soiled, you may have to change them more often.
