Huh. Wonder how she got that. Her grandpa and her dad have normal coloring. The only birds besides her I have with dark faces are Ayams, Sumatras and a naked neck pullet kinda has it

Did her mom's line have it?I have a Ameraucana Dominique cross with gypsy face, and her father looked normal.
Her mom was a Dominique, so no.Did her mom's line have it?
That is a lovely hen.
Not sure. She hasn't started to lay yet. She's a mid April baby and we had a cold plummet that caused everyone to stop a month early this yearThat is a lovely hen.
How is her egg production?
She's only 1/4 cochin. The bantam Cochin and standard Amerucana created my current pullet's dad who bred with a Phoenix to make my Bear.So Phoenix x Bantam Cochin....
Sounds like you could produce chickens that could be really really broody but also incredibly cute!!
Would love to see pics of the results!!
How does Cochin floofiness interact with slow-molting but harder Phoenix feathers!?
This could be a very interesting project!
(Bantu languages and cultures have very little to do with this chickie situation).
