Blue eggs, for sure

Howdy, I have a few EE hens and one roo. I know the eggs will be blue, but if they are mattress with a Dixie Rainbow, will the babies lay blue eggs, since the mama did?

Easter eggers are mixes breeds and can lay any color egg from blue, green or even tan. Breeding an Easter Egger with any other breed regardless of what egg it was hatched from still has the potential to produce any color egg.

But are the babies more likely to lay blue eggs if the father is also an EE?

Easter Eggers are by definition mixed breed birds. That’s why there is no guarantee that they will lay blue or green eggs. And why no one can accurately determine if your chicks will lay blue or green eggs. The mother and fathers genetics both help to determine egg color. I do think you would have better luck getting blue or green eggs using the EE roo.
If the Dixie rainbow roo is used I believe (though I might be very wrong) you would be more likely to have brown or green eggs.
