I think the only way to get a robin blue egg color from a chicken would be to gene edit.

I wonder how a person could breed to get a better shade of blue egg color?

Start with good blue egg gene stock and keep crossing and culling.
Could take a dozen generations.

Show breeders often focus on plumage and body conformation rather than egg color.
If you bought directly from him, ask if he culls for egg color.

These are as blue as I've gotten. Just plain Easter Eggers from Ideal Hatchery.

They certainly aren't turquoise, but they don't look white either. They all lay shades of blue except for one. She lays a mint green. I'm very happy with the hens and the eggs.

The best blues I've had was from hatchery EE's.
Where are your Ameraucanas from...and how long do we have to wait to see what they lay?

Mine are from Paul Smith in Texas. I've had extraordinarily bad luck this spring with predators or dogs and had to start all over. They are 3 weeks old so it will be awhile.

I have a few ameraucanas, an auraucana and EEs that lay blue eggs, the pale blue ones. But my crested creme legbars lay a gorgeous blue egg ... much darker with a touch of a turquoise tint.
