I have nine hatched chicks and any help would be appreciated. I ordered these thru My Pet Chicken and was told the egg was a Blue Favorolle. I had 2 but the second egg was an early death. I think it is a Rooster. It was my first egg to hatch.

By the way...this is all the same chicken

I don't see anything screaming cockerel, but it's too young to sex accurately at this point. I would post its pic again in 5-6 weeks. By then its gender should be much more obvious.

Thanks....I was watching the tail curve down a bit instead of up, so it got me thinking. S/he also is a bit pushy with the others.

It is a Favaucana, their Faverolles x Ameraucana designer breed. It has a pea comb.

Blue Faverolles are exceedingly rare and certainly no hatchery has them. Besides Favs have single combs.

You are all correct. Sorry it is a blue favaucana any sexing ideas or tips. I keep typing the wrong name. Favaucana. Do we think that is correct. It has four toes and lightly fuzzy legs

Faverolles have 5 toes. That chick does not. It barely has any leg feathering. No hatchery will have blues. As it is only 4 private breeders have them. Aside from that your chick is too young to sex.

These are blue Faverolles. My past/present birds.
