blue-ish chick breed unknown?

I thought that too, Cynthia, but how likely is someone going to randomly getting a Blue Rock from anyone. I would think anyone who has those wouldn't be getting rid of them too quickly. I have never seen one even on here.

I've never seen a blue rock. Of course I'm new to this and don't know much. I have a chick that looks alot like this except no white. Just all blueish.

There are blue Plymouth Rocks-they've been accepted into the standard since 1920. I have two. halo raises them. Blue/Black/Splash. The chick could be a sexlink of some sort, but it may become more apparent as it grows. There are also Blue Jersey Giants.

Here's my Alice:

If it were a Blue Rock it should still have slate colored legs. I hadn't check my SOP on the Blues but I hardly ever seen them on anyone's list or in any catalogs from the hatcheries.
Yours is a pretty lady. I have a Blue Andalusian that is just a bit smaller looking but just as lovely. I have a thing for Blue chickens. I think it is so fun to see the three different varieties in one.

Oh Alice is beauty, thanks for sharing that photo! Mine is obviously not a blue rock, but boy that's got me wanting one:love

Technically, the standard does call for yellow legs on blue Rocks, though most have a slatey overlay down the front.

The males would have yellower legs than the females, which seems to be the case with most Rocks.

Post pics as it grows so we can see what it turns out to be. It probably is not a blue Rock, but you never know. I'd be more inclined to a JG or a cross.

Per the SOP:

Blue rocks:

Shanks and Toes: Male - Yellow. Female Yellow or dusky yellow, yellow preferred.

No mention of slate.
