Blue Jersey Giants

We are about as far apart as you can get!! Hope you got the pics. I love these guys and am hoping to breed and raise them. So far they are very gentle, although the roosters have been breeding some of my other hens and they don't take no for an answer. Make sure you post pics when you get yours.

Wow, those are good looking birds. Where did you get yours? From what everyone tells me they are a really good natured chicken. I can't wait to get mine and see them running around. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Well I just bought mine about a month ago, a Lady not too far from me is raising them and like you I am in love with the blue color.
I live in Central Alberta Canada, if you look on a map I am right between Edmonton and Calgary.
I am trying to get some Blacks to bring up the breeding stock but will have to wait for some chicks. A friend is hatching me some eggs starting next week.
Ohhh if there was any way we could get eggs or birds shipped between countries!! Well I know the big hatcheries will send birds to a town close to the border and we just have to get the proper papers and go pick them up, what a pain!!!!
Oh for the love of chickens eh!!!!!
I have recieved all your messages and you are so welcome. Love sharing pics of my birds.

I made a breed page a week or so ago for mine:

There is a breeder that lives north of me that I bought the eggs from. I tried to get more from him, but he never answered my emails.

I have enough stock, though, to start really breeding them this spring.

Wow,Blisschick, that is amazing, the pictures are so great.
Learn something new everyday on here, didn't know about all the coloring. I am going to print that off, thanks so much.

Blisschick, thank you for that information and the pics. I got a black JG sort of by accident on Craigslist, and I am totally in love with her. She is very friendly and talkative. When she talks it sounds like she is saying, "Ooooooh, deeaaarrrrrr". Her name is Olga, but we say it like, "Oooooohhhhhlga!". This breed is appealing to me more and more...

Hey all y'all with JGiants, I have a black pullet named Magnolia (Maggie) a very large and gentel giant, she is my favorite. She sounds like a goose instead of a chicken is this normal?

Don't they sound different from other chickens? Mine have a unique sound when talking to me. It's kind of hard to describe unless you hear it. I especially like the roo's "wokka wokka wokka" noise.
