Blue Laced Barnevelder, pullet or cockerel?

Over the last week, my 5 week old blue laced barnevelder’s comb has started to turn red, but it hasn’t gotten any bigger. Is there a chance it could still be a hen? I know it’s probably too early to tell.. Grasping at straws!

Rose (and sometimes pea combs) can pink early. Comb growth and wattle growth are the 2 things to watch for with those combs.

Not sure about sex. Buy I don't think he/she is a Barnevelder. Barnevelders have single combs.

Looks like a gold laced wyandotte not a barnvelder.
And i wouldnt say cockerel yet, my silver wyandotte pinked up early.

I am going to say cockerel,those legs look mighty thick.Where did you get him?Because there is no way that is a Blue laced Barnevelder it looks more like a Gold laced Wyandotte mixed breed.This is a Blue laced Barnevelder in comparison to your bird.

I’ve been skeptical of the breed, as well. I got it from a hatchery who told me it was a BLB. I also got a golden laced Wyandotte, and as fuzzy chicks, they were very hard to tell apart.
