Well, the parents were from a hatchery, but I'm not sure what they looked like as chicks. Mine were bred from those ones. Like I said before, could it be because of the fact that I have bantams and you have standards?

Loaded 31 more in the bator, hadn't planned on hatching, hadn't been turning that often, but my little partridge rock gave me two eggs back to back and I had to see if they would go.


Some of the eggs did look golden when I candled them at loading.

It depends what you want them for. I bought my stock from Jerry Foley because I want to breed from them. I sell eggs and chicks to pay for their feed and to buy new birds. ;)

For backyard pets and egg layers, hatchery stock is fine.
