Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Nicely explained! It look like double lacing to me also.
Quote: I don't know..these chicks are pretty young. You can tell that they are from Blacks. I will post pictures of changes in chicks of blacks as they mature so you can see how the lacing comes in. Black chicks are just different.
I am not positive you are wrong. I am just saying there are other possibilities.
Do either of you breed blacks?

I could not find many pictures and took one today

here are pics at 3 weeks of age..black to black breeding

This is a week later as the lacing comes in

It changes as they molt out those baby feathers too

I will post more later..

We have blacks and none of them have that.

When we first started breeding, we had one BLR hen that had that patterning-we ending up sellling her as a pet quality bird.

Hi All, I have four BLRW chicks that are three weeks old now. I am trying to guess the sex.. Thoughts? Chick1: Chick2: Chick3: Chick4: Thanks!
I have a question for you. I have two 11week old BLRW I got from an individual. They both look like your #4. Will they keep the black and why the difference in colors? New to this breed. I don't know much about any breeds. Hehe...

x2 I hatched more splash and black than I did blue and none of the blacks I kept looked like that either.

Camera's are so hard and pictures to judge even harder...I like the color of legs. I am wondering about that comb. I am not sure if I see leaders or what it is I see. I do like the shape and fullness of chest that is developing. But wish I seen both legs on the ground with a frontal to see if legs are wide apart.  Only time will tell in such a young cockerel. They need a solid year. Nice sized eye and good curve of neck. If you need a splash in your breeding program I would hang on to him and reevaluate in three more months. Not sure if I see a slight curve in the beak or it is camera angle. It makes the eye on the right look lower and forward in the picture. It is something to keep an eye on.
love the top chick..nice round body..good foundation to start. Not sure on the sex..no tail yet.
.bottom I would guess it a pullet and really nice color. Love that slate blue.
I  would guess at least part W..that top one on the left sure looks it.
This is a cull..

Could you elaborate on why he is a cull?
