Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

This person should just be honest... like just say I bought ....... from........ and don't want them now. Scetchy that their not just being out front about it. I personally wouldn't use pics without permission, unless using for an example bird to good quality or something... but not for sales. If they have access to pic they have acsess to contact info...

I don't think this guy brought the chicks to make a profit, he said that he has a small hatchery farm, but the chicks in question below to a friend of him and he's selling them for the friend maybe he's telling the truth maybe the original owner brought the chicks from phage and don't want them anymore who knows what's the truth if he still have them until Sunday I will ask him for an address to go check the chicks

Hello, all! I have a BLRW (black varietal) pullet about 16-17 weeks old that I would like to rehome somewhere WITHOUT a rooster. A hawk injured the back of her head pretty badly when she was about 4 wks. She is perfectly healthy, but she has a scar where no feathers will grow. I'm worried that a rooster will hurt her while attempting to mate. I am in Louisiana.

I know the majority of you who post here have roosters for breeding, but I know there are people who pop in just to look at the pics of the pretty birds and only keep hens for eggs. That would be my ideal home for her. I am going to post on the Louisiana board if I don't have any responses, but I wanted to post here first. Feel free to PM me with any questions. :)

Her best buddy used to be a bantam Cochin who had a bad habit of pulling tail feathers. This girl is still growing hers back. :)

ok finally got a couple pics of the 2 blrw cockerels... Chicken Dinner (who won't be) and Shim (who was a pullet for way longer than any other blrw I've had - nearly 5 months!)

CD and Shim are both the same age/hatch, both were sold as hatchlings and came back to me - CD because he was too nice as a chick to let her eat him! Shim because I lost my other hen and needed a spare.

Shim is darker, but smaller than CD. and compared to CD he's also very narrow. until I compare him to something else, like, say, a dorking. LOL

yes, I know the photos aren't very flattering in pose, and not enough angles to give a good critique over. not worried about that, as I'm pretty sure I know what to look for, and these guys have it (or will when they're done growing!). both boys are just over 5 months old. (ETA but I would like comments?)

at this age they both look knock-kneed, but as they widen so will their stance. also they have no neck feathers so there's no curve of any sort, and the tail feathers aren't in yet either. LOL as they've matured, i'm pretty sure CD is out of my Canadian splash girl and shim is out of my Foley girl... so now I just need good hens/pullets to put them with. i'm tempted to put CD over his mother, simply because he's that much nicer than 'daddy' LOL

for comparison on the first, this is CD. next to a 2 year old LF EE girl that's probably every bit of 5 pounds!
(and the doorway to the horse trailer is probably every bit of 12" high!)

and Shim... no side-by-side comparisons, sorry, but felt I should include him in the photo group. LOL

I own a pair of BLRW.... I think they are my favorites. 4 months old and getting prettier everyday. Have loved the Roos personality! Maybe in spring add more BLRW to the flock!
