Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Definitely look splash colored too me, thanks for posting!

I hatched BLRW's 3 weeks ago on Thursday, I think I have blue and black laced reds. Cool to compare ours at the same age:

Yours look so sweet and well behaved compared to mine. They've been outside a couple of times and now they are rambunctious dive bombing each other and going nuts in the brooder. They love it outside but winter will be back with a vengeance tomorrow.

They really are! I have some other breeds too, all the same age. The BLRW chicks are markedly more calm and docile than the rest. They are so sweet.

One of them flies out of the brooder onto my shoulder any time I open it, haha. these chicks were sold to me here by a BYC member (luvinbluechickens) as hatching eggs. :)

I've raised a mix of chicks and turkeys and these guys seem a lot more active and feistier. Today it's all about flying. I found two outside the brooder pooping all over the floor, grrr, and when I put them into the run to have some outdoor time they started darting all over the run up onto the perch then chest bumping. They're going to go nuts when they have to stay in the brooder for the next week.

It was 8dg here last nite and Oprah is having a bad hair day. ...

I'm really sorry if I offend you, but how are these BLRW chicks? Their patterns look nothing like I've seen in this breed before. Can someone please clarify this for me?

They are from Foley / Jesse Paul lines, if you google them you can see similar looking chicks. They are not from a hatchery.
this person shows 3 chicks of all 3 colors with similar patterning to mine (also Foley):

BUT... this is my first time hatching and raising BLRW chicks so I really have no reference point. What seems strange about them or what would you expect them to look like?

It's just the broken patterns in the wing coloring. I'm only asking this to clear up my own confusion, as mine have been laced from their first set of feathers or shortly after. I haven't had any hatch with that pattern. My SS and Jubilees look like that with the white tipped feathers.

This chick is now the pullet below. I can't find a younger photo atm. You can barely see the others in the background but they haven't had multiple colors like yours, only the 3 variations of the blue(b,b or s lacing)

how interesting, where are yours from?
honestly when their wing feathers started coming in, I found it very confusing! LOL I think I am just used to looking at them now. But you're right, our chicks look very different.. where did you get yours?
