If I had to pick one I would choose the black lace Blue, I like the way he looks better...I am no expert though.I have 2 BLRW roosters and I would like to get it down to one. I bought these from PeakyBeaky back in December. The black one is about 11 months old and the blue is 10 months. Please give me your opinions, good and bad, in regards to type, coloring, etc.. I only got one good picture of the blue because he never stands still for me.

That roo is NOT a breeder. Why are you adding a new roo? Can you not wait till you get a breeder from Foley?I am thinking of getting a new rooster to add to my pen until I can get one from Foley in late fall. Please help critique this boy as he needs a new home and he may work.
- Would you consider his comb to be con caved?
- Would you consider his legs too pale?
- Is his back too long?
- How is his tail carriage?
- How are his wattles?
- Is the color on his neck and hackles correct?

Don't use the one with all the brassyness. That will only hurt your breeding. I can't really tell on type on the other roo..... but his color is better. He is not as beefy as the other roo. They type is better on the brassy roo, but I would still not use him.I have 2 BLRW roosters and I would like to get it down to one. I bought these from PeakyBeaky back in December. I'd wait too-this is not a breeder. That roo is NOT a breeder. Why are you adding a new roo? Can you not wait till you get a breeder from Foley?
I don't like either, sorry to say. The black is way off on color-don't know what happened there since he was a first generation Foley bird. His type is better, but he way brassy. I like the color of the BLR better, but he doesn't have the shape of the other. Depending on what hens you have, I'd be leaning to the blue-even with the bad type. Blue to blue gives you the best blue color from what Foley told us. And with another month under him, the Blue may be a better pick.
