Blue or Black?

So I'm starting to have doubts that my flock master is black. He looks black, but he keeps throwing blues and he should not be with the hens he's breeding (spitzhaben, black mix and calico Princess).

I can get more pictures tonight if I need to, he doesn't let me close without a fight when he's loose

He looks like a really Dark blue. My sister's silkie looked like a regular partridge with the black, but turns out she was a Blue partridge. Noticed the difference when compared to my black silkie.
 
x2, looks like a dark blue. Handsome fellow! You can see the blue more clearly in some of his tail and breast feathers. I have noticed that male specific feathers in blue birds (the hackles and saddles) tend to have a darker appearance, some even approaching black.
