Blue Orp & BR Cockerels (((SOLD))) / N. GA.

i havent seen any pics of these guys in a long long time. i bet they look like total studmuffins nowadays. how is the blue turning out and what does the amanda son look like?

Not even sure which one is Amanda's son, Beefy! He's among the better barred ones, I'm sure, though. I'm taking the extra blue Orp to the feedstore today-she finally has room for one. And since these people around here have never even heard of one, I'm taking a pic of his papa so they can see what he'll look like all grown up. So, sadly, for awhile, he'll live in a cage and eat corn, but I have to move these fellas ASAP.

I have seven Barred Rocks available. The last available Blue Orpington is now at the feedstore to be sold there. The owner has been very nice in allowing me a place to sell my extra birds when she has a free cage, which I appreciate immensely! The only problem is that she rarely has space lately, but since I now have a cage with one of my birds in it, maybe the moment he's sold, I can put another couple in there. I'll get a better price selling him there than I would outright. People pay her prices, which is great. They're less likely to want to eat one they paid a higher price for, I think. Maybe that picture of daddy Suede she taped on the cage will convince them to take that sweet boy home.

I am in total disbelief that no one has been able to take this guy yet!!! Boy I wish I had two weeks off and enough gas money to drive across the country

What a shame!! I feel your pain, 5 more go to the feed store today. It is just impossible to find homes for the roos.

I wish you did live closer! There are many on BYC who would give these boys homes, if I would ship them, but I just cant do that. So, I struggle with the extra roos like everyone else. The less common birds, though, do well with certain groups of people. And that group is scarce here. Most of the people in this county don't give a flying fig if you call it a Barred Rock or a Dominique (well, they say "Dominicker" and deny it's a different breed), as long as it lays eggs every single day and is big enough to eat when it slows down. No appreciation for anything special like my Blue Orpingtons.
