thanks Cyn. mine may be all pullets afterall. their legs look like hers and some have slight comb development.

At that last picture, I'd finally decided she wasn't a roo after all, but when I posted it, I was told that she was definitely a cockerel, LOL. You can see that even her legs were not very dark on the front like Ivy's were. She does have lighter coloring than most BR pullets at that age. After her molt this year, her feathers came in different and she looks a little darker to me.

i'm excited about the ameracaunas! when are you hatching those? werent you going to get some blue marans?

beefy roadtrip this summer?

I was going to get some Blue Marans, but my source had a serious family situation and I told her not to worry about the eggs right now. I may get some later on from her, perhaps trade two Blue Marans pullets for two Ameraucana pullets or something. The Ameraucanas are coming for my April hatch, some are definitely being sent on March 31 and the Blue Wheatens either March 31 or April 7, depending on when he decides he can get them to me. Jody had to postpone my Buff Orp shipment a week, so I'm getting those sent out April 7 anyway. I'll have a week's stagger for this hatch. The first bunch will go into the bator on April 4-I'm custom hatching some of my Blue Orps for KingsCalls and some Welsummers from mothergoose along with a half dozen Cree lines Ameraucanas that round. If I get the Blue Wheatens then, they'll start April 4, too. If not, a week later with the Buff Orpingtons.

Oh, I wish I could get a little Suede but I'd have to get some hens somewhere and I'm still working on my other breeds. (mille fleur d'uccles, buff-laced polish, crevecouers, and Egyptian Fayoumis)

Wasn't she, though? She's the reason I became interested in having a BR rooster in the first place. I was really disappointed when she turned out to actually be a pullet, even though it was never my intention to have a rooster here. My, how things change!
