Blue Orp & BR Cockerels (((SOLD))) / N. GA.

I know that, believe me I do, but I had to get them out of here before the end of April, so I sold them cheap. To BYCers, they were free, but I took just $2 each for them, sadly. Sometimes, you just have to do that. I won't sell the Orpingtons cheap like that, though. If I hadn't had so many of them, you can bet they'd have been priced higher. I have a feeling these guys will buy lots of my extra roos at a younger age, but they also breed them, so it's possible that some would be used as breeders. They tried to sell me BR chicks, LOL.

I understand what your saying about having no choice. I am thinking about selling chickens and hatching eggs. I don't know if I can sell all of them though.

That's the one thing about hatching that is the hardest, selling the extra roos when you know they wont all be pets. Now, the man who paid $20 for my Blue Orpington cockerel today at the feedstore was thrilled to get him and you know that boy will be a breeder not soup. But, he's rare and utility BRs are not. People here don't even know there's a difference in Doms and BRs, nor do they care. They want them to lay eggs, big eggs and lots of them and that's all.

If you are going to have welsummers at the same time that you have the Orps hatch, I may take a few of those if they are not spoken for already. I will be down the weekend of my birthday (the 26th will be Saturday) Thanks once more Cyn !

No, buddy, I haven't raised the price on you. They were $5 listed in BST, then you were going to throw me a few bucks for their upkeep to hold them a little longer. I wouldn't do that to you! I just told those guys that today to see their eyes bug out of their heads, although the feedstore lady really did sell that other boy for $20-her decision, not mine. I get half of that in store credit to buy feed or whatever.
The Welsummers I may need to keep because I have one customer who wants a pullet from them and I need to keep a couple of girls as well. We'll see, though, depending on how many I can get to hatch. I just want my Orp girls to lay enough eggs this week for me to collect for your hatch! They took a break today, both of them, so maybe now they'll lay well the next few.
