Buff and blue orp mostly gives you a buff golden/blue pattern on the first trys. Been there, done that.

Do you have any picts? I'd like to try it with my cochins- just a couple eggs maybe.

The original Coronation Sussex are blue columbian, & tend to be bred blue to black. It is the Australian Coronation Sussex which is lavender.

I'm doing lavender partridge Orps. I have quite a few big typey lavender Orps on eb with one or two (or no) pattern genes. It's not difficult with the pullets but I have trouble telling which males are carrying two pattern genes.

Krys, do you have any pictures you could post? I have several projects going on and I need direction for this one. BTW - I have young lavender orps also. Oh, the posibilities!

Many folks have hatched from my blue Orp rooster over my Buff Brahma hen. My Glenda is the result of that mating. Males are black or blue with lots of gold/buff in the wings and hackles. Females are solid black or blue. Most have feathered legs and all have pea or modified pea combs. Pea comb is dominant over single.

Thanks for the knowledgw Rootball! Lovely bird! How many generations did it take to get her?

Oh I hope I didnt imply that that was my bird I just googled blue colombian brahma and picked the first example. I really have no idea who's it is.

Im just taking a stab at the number of generations by things ive read about people introducing colors from another breed. The book that comes to mind is Grant Breretons "21st century poultry breeding". The birds will look like Blue Colombian Brahmas rather quickly, but adjusting size, length of back, total conformation seems to take a few more generations.
