Is it normal for Blue Orpington chicks to have white feathers? I have this cute little Blue Orp chick and he has white feathers. Tell me what you think.

Yes, it is one from Buster. It could be a splash, his roo is a HUGE gorgeous splash. Oh, that would make me so happy!

I have a feeling she'll drop those as she grows in her mature feathers. I know black have some white feathers early on, but they gradually all come in black.

No, I think it's a blue but performing the same plumage growth pattern as a black does.

I agree with Jody. I think those white feathers will phase out as the chick grows. Diesel had several white feathers as a chick and you can't tell at all now. Blues tend to change hues as they grow out their feathers too.

You know it may turn out to be mottled. Look how white the chest is. If the chest begins to feather in with white. I would say mottled for sure then.
