I have one of Skye's eggs in my own bator right now on Day 4 to test. I did a butt-fluff trim on her, but maybe I'll need to trim Suede as well-those Orps are extreme in the fluff dept! She is his favorite over Velvet, it seems to me, so it wouldn't be for lack of trying, LOL. It's good that a few of us will have hatching eggs available because just one person can't fill all the demand for them anyway. One person's birds may stop laying temporarily, like Velvet did, or there may be just too many people wanting them.

Yes I will be selling some hatching eggs and baby chicks in the spring. I would be glad to put you on the list!

Yes I have to agree with Speckledhen, not all girls created equal LOL and some will lay and some will stop. At least keep your names on their lists too because if one of us dont have it, at least you will have some eggs from another breeder.

Blue Orps eggs are hard to come by particularly if you want to outcross the lines a bit so the lines stay strong.

PM me if you want to have your name on the list. We got number five on the list already!

No orders on chicks or started chicks yet....list is open. If they dont sell I will probably take them to the Kankakee swap sale with surplus Orps.

Come to find out who was the breeder of this roo out in the East Coast, goes by the name of Tommy Stanley...anyone heard of him? I heard that he was deceased now.

Since there haven't been many places to purchase this variety of Orpingtons, many people have related birds even across the country. It's a great idea to mix up the genes, being careful to buy from flocks who have never had any illness, if you can determine that.
He's gorgeous, Julie. Looks like Suede did before he got his full tail-my boy was bobtailed for months, LOL.
