Blue Orpington Rooster behavior

I guess the French Maids outfit might actually exacerbate the problem you're trying to control. Maybe if you put your hens in a pair of non-figure-flattering sweats or flannel PJs, your B.O. Rooster would lose the desire to mate with them for awhile.

Just a thought.

As a follow up, Do you use the same faux leather for the top and bottom? How do you wash/clean them after usage? My wife is quickly modifying the smaller saddle design to extend the sides. She has a bunch of old denim and was going to use buttons to secure the elastic strap. Is is better/easier to use the fixed end of the strap and move the middle one way or the other? I am sure that these may seem like simple questions, but we want to learn from what others have done and stop any more damaged hens.

Thank you,

A couple of mine have the faux leather on top and bottom. One has the leather on top and stiff cotton on the bottom. I even put a new top and bottom on top of an older small saddle I bought years ago from someone to expand it for my big birds. You can just throw them in the washer and they wash fine. The faux leather will wipe off okay, too, but I rarely have a need to wash them. My Orp ladies have been wearing theirs for months now.

My problem is finding a saddle that would fit an Ameraucana; my Gypsy is lean bodied and no saddle has ever fit her.
