I think the camera adds weight, LOL. Suede looks even more humongous in that first pic than he does in person. Thank goodness he's so calm and sweet! He's produced some nice offspring, I think. He's also spoiled me for anymore Blue Orp roosters, so I think when he's gone (waaahhh!), I wont try to get another one. But, we'll see. I just hope he's with me for quite awhile.

Hello, fellow Georgian! All you have to do is get a bator or make one, is you dont already have one, and in a couple months, I should have all three of my blue ladies cranking out the eggs full tilt.

The Blue Orps must just be a great breed because the roo I got from Tuffoldhen is humongous and sweet also. Just the biggest chicken I've ever seen and gets the complete devil from my diminutive RIR roo, Sue. I don't think Sweet Lou, or Sue, realizes that all Lou would have to do is SIT on him and Sue would be toast!

Speckled Hen, that Suede is one fantabulous dude! I want some of his offspring! I don't have a bator (hubby would divorce me), but as soon as the new coop/run are built, maybe the 1much would get some little ones to me, since he's closer. BTW, Busters avatar with Blue's boy got me jonesin' for a black orp; good grief what beautimous birds!

My big black Orp roo, Diesel (son of Suede) is 13 pounds. My buff Orp roo is 9 pounds. They are separated by chicken wire and the buff Orp is the head roo in his side but Diesel looks at him like he'd like to eat him for lunch someday.

Suede is such a beautiful boy! Just today, I was admiring him in your avatar photo, and now you've delighted me even further with more pics!

In the first photo, his body looks so huge and yet his head is so small -- and check out the size of those wattles! He looks happy and healthy (and his ladies are gorgeous, too). I love the slight contrast between the blue of his hackles and the blue of his body feathers. He's so fluffy and cuddly-looking! (Pardon me while I worship his rooster Greatness!

).
