Blue Orpingtons....and Miss Nutmeg (PIC HEAVY!)

Suede's wattles have been the subject of conversation more than once, LOL. He is the image of his own sire, Blue Boy, owned by Bama Chicken, and the wattles, and his daddy's, are really a tad bigger than they should be. Sueders isn't perfect, has a couple of faults, but he's produced some seriously spectacular kids with his ladies and his personality and temperament have won him a home for life. Jared, I'm glad you are pleased with Diesel. That's always nice to hear.

WOW, they are goregous!

Have you seen any of Suede's blue offspring cockerals as mature roo's?

I have been fortune that my % of pullets is very high and I have had very few of Mosby's male chicks to deal with.

I have had a few splash, one blue and one super dark blue which alot of people confuse with black - you know the dull dark blue. Anyway - the dark one was not attractive at all. Something about him was just not pretty. On the other hand the one blue boy I am raising now is striking. Even more so that his daddy.

Just curious how Suede's blue boys developed at maturity.

I did see one recently as a semi-mature boy. KingsCalls bought a blue and a black from me and I think it was the blue one that won Best Large Fowl Cockerel at a show. Jeff hasn't been on here alot lately-probably working too much. Hope he sees this and will post updated pics.

speckledhen, those blue orpingtons are beautiful....never seen those kind of chickens before....I would love to have some chicks if you sell them.....i could also incubate some eggs....

I will probably do an incubation in February for someone so I could have chicks then. I'm waiting for Skye to resume laying after her molt and the two younger girls to get going with the egg production, or I would have eggs right now. I'll probably have eggs in March, but I am not doing a waiting list and schedule like I did last year. Too stressful and time consuming! Just look for me to post in BST. My first customer for Dusty and Smoky's eggs (and Skye's, too) will be ThreeBoysChicks-I have to get Ed some eggs, finally! He's been patiently waiting.
