Took some pictures today of Suede with Skye (finally coming out of her molt) and his new girls, Dusty and Smoky, both going on 23 weeks old. Smoky has laid two eggs, her second one just today. Still waiting on Dusty. My RIR/Buff Orp cross hen, Meg, is with the Blue Orpingtons, mainly so I can help MissPrissy with her interesting Red Orp project, but she's doing fine with Suede so I think I'll just leave her there for the time being. Meg is recovering from bumblefoot lately, so that's why the vetwrap on her feet. She's making good progress so she's fine. Most of these were taken while Smoky was on the nest, so the girl running with Suede is Dusty.

Skye is finally growing her feathers back since she quit laying. You can tell she's a darker blue than the younger girls

Your birds are absolutely beautiful Speckled Hen! Love the blue and love the one of Suede crowing! I'm noticing a definite lack of snow in your yard tho! lol Wouldn't that be a pretty sight - the blue birds contrast in the snow!

Thank you all so much. I am quite partial to my Suedenator. In fact, I like him more than all the girls combined. He's such a gentle giant. JanieMarie, we had some snow the other day, but it's all gone now. I think the blue and red birds together are such a pretty color combination.

Edited to Add: Suede and Meg will turn two years old next month. Skye is a couple months younger, if I remember correctly.
