We were told Almond-Joy was hen, and was less than a year old, along with another Narragansett hen. We’ve had the two for about a month, they sit with our year old red bourbon hen. Though while checking ‘her’ we noticed she developed a two inch chest beard and that her horn is starting to slowly look more droopy than the others but still isn’t exceptionally long. She doesn’t show off her feathers and is the most relaxed of the three, is it normal for the hens to start developing the beard? They run from us when we try to get pictures so I only have far distance ones along with her from when we originally got her.

Sorry, I can't really tell anything from those pics. I have had Blue Slate hens with overly large snoods and beards. A hen's beard will only be about half or even less the diameter of a tom's beard.

Took some more pictures this morning, if she’s a hen we are 100% okay with it 😊
