Can anyone explain the breeding genetics of blue wheaton? I often see egg batches being sold as blue wheaton/wheaton. When breeding a blue to a blue do you get 50% blue wheaton, 25% Wheaton, and 25% splash?

I have a pair of blue wheaton chicks from peachick who are a few months old and they are so beautiful already! You should see the color eggs she has, they are the color of a Tiffany's box!

Pips&Peeps really did a great job when she bred the birds peachick has, lovely eggs indeed.
Most Ameraucana breeders are trying to improve egg color.

Here is your info:
Wheaten and Blue Wheaten genetics:

Wheaten x Wheaten = All Wheaten

Wheaten x Blue Wheaten = 1/2 Wheaten and 1/2 Blue Wheaten

Blue Wheaten x Blue Wheaten = 1/2 Blue Wheaten, 1/4 Wheaten and 1/4 Splash
Wheaten.

Wheaten x Splash Wheaten = All Blue Wheaten

Blue Wheaten x Splash Wheaten = 1/2 Splash Wheaten and 1/2 Blue Wheaten

Splash Wheaten x Splash Wheaten = All Splash Wheaten

) , It's been awhile since I've been on here. I just hatched about about 20 WBS Ameraucanas. They're already sold but I'll be hatching more soon.

There is not much difference between the Wheaten and Blue Wheaten pullet or hens. The BW's just have a more bluish tint in their feathers and tails. They will never be as blue as the Blue variety of Ameraucanas. Moreoever, the WBS is still a breed in progress and much work is yet to be done with them.

Here is the genetics for the WBS Ameraucanas:

Wheaten x Wheaten = 100% Wheaten
Wheaten x Blue Wheaten = 50% Wheaten & 50% Blue Wheaten
Wheaten x Splash Wheaten = 100% Blue Wheaten
Blue Wheaten x Blue Wheaten= 50% Blue Wheaten, 25% Wheaten, 25% Splash Wheaten
Splash Wheaten x Splash Wheaten = 100& Splash Wheaten
Splash Wheaten x Blue Wheaten = 50% Splash Wheaten & 50% Blue Wheaten

I'd really be interested in obtaining four blue wheaten pullets from one of you breeders! I have spent too much money on hatching eggs and gotten very poor to no eggs hatching. I am done with eggs, the PO treats them too rough.
