I just moved all three of Chanel’s eggs from Marshmallow to Reggie who has also gone broody to allow Marshmallow to better get the DCMs through hatching. Reggie is a good broody but very aggressive so after she hatches them I might sneak them under Marshmallow so I can better get a look at them as they grow, and to try and get at least one silkie back in lay.

No hatches yet but plenty of peeping from the silkie eggs.

Had a bit of a miscommunication today where my granddad threw marshmallow off the nest to eat, not realising I’d fenced in the boxes from the entrance to keep them contained. So she’s been off the DCM eggs for five hours. It’s warm today so fingers crossed this hasn’t messed the hatch up entirely.

Two blue silkies and one olive egger (white). The third silkie egg somehow rolled into the olive egger’s open shell and I think this messed it up. I’ve taken off the extra shell and put it under Reggie to see if it hatches.

I’ve been forced to name the silkies Desmond and Talulah…

Yes, Talulah is after the cool runnings bob sleigh, if anyone thought that.
