BMD souluable ....how to use it for 2 chickens??

How big do their crops feel after 60ml? could you maybe just give 90-120ml twice a day? My smaller ones can't take more than 60ml, but my full sized hens can take 120 quite easily. Any chance you could get a vet to sell you some fluids? If so, I could teach you how to give them subcutaneously and then you wouldn't have to give fluids orally.

They are pretty full. They are smaller hens, not as big as my white rock....she's a big girl lol. I can probably get my hands on SQ fluids. I forgot about that. I just started the BMD powder, so I will see if that works. Should I try a more powerful antibiotic??

Quote: You already tried Baytril... I don't know of any stronger than that, but I'm not a vet, lol.

Get the fluids, then you can give a thicker food, which will help with their weight.

Ohh thank you!!, I just stumbled across this too. Question is do I treat 200mg or 400mg??

I would always use the maximum suggested dose to treat which is the 400mg. The 100mg dosage may be a preventative dosage, but I'm not sure. The 200mg is probably for a mild or moderate infection.
Neomycin is a very old antibiotic used to treat many gram negative organisms, and some gram positive ones as well, but it can be toxic to the kidneys and ear nerves, causing kidney failure and deafness if it is overdosed. So I would carefully follow the mixing instructions on the label for that one.

Yes preventative bacitracin is 100mg. I did go with the 400mg/g so that was 1/2 tsp per gallon. Thank you for helping me. :) this is their last day of neomycin, so I'm happy that it's one less antibiotic to give.

At this point I'd start to worry about yeast from all of the antibiotics.

How do I know when yeast becomes a problem? It's only a matter of time since they have had a ton of antibiotics. How do you treat yeast infections?? I better get ready and have the stuff on hand.
