BO caught & ate mouse!

I'm sorry but that is gross! I didn't know they would eat all that. I wish I never read this. blehck!

I am so glad I have several chickens now! Cats seem to want to just bring their catches to the house for praise and just drop them off!

I am pleased to hear that the chickens will dispose of them!

I watched my black aulstrap(Black Beauty) eat a frog yesterday. She ran around the pen with it for a couple of hours, wouldn't let any other hen near her and when it got good and soft and limp, she woofed it! I thought she would choke. It went down and came up and out a couple of times. I told my husband," I want THAT egg tomorrow morning!" Ha ha. It really doesn't make any difference. An egg is an egg. bayouchica, Heres my first mouse experience.. did not know they would eat mice.. But
Last night just before dark when I went to put my girls in the bed..(chickens in the house I mean) one was missing. My dad told me he saw her up by his house pecking away at something. I thought it had to be something special for her not to come when I called.. that was unusual.. so being the mom I am I had to go see.. I found her pecking insanely at something.. She picked it up in her mouth and started running around.. the closer I looked the more I realize it was a MOUSE'S FOOT!!!! So here I am in complete shock watching my chicken run mad with a foot in her beak!! Somehow the chicken had stollen the mouse's foot from the cat that had killed and was eating the mouse..
I just cant seem to figure out if Im lucky to have all this rodent patrol or if its gross cause my chickens are part of the patrol..
